O Christmas Tree

We actually put up our tree last Sunday, but I'm finally getting around to posting pictures. It looks so much better than the picture shows...why is it that I can never get a good picture of a tree? Does anyone know how to get better pictures? Anyways, thanks Sean for putting it up and for humoring me when I start asking you to put it up around November 10th! Hahaha. I love you!

Mara's First

Black Friday!

I don't think she thought getting up that early was very cool. I've never been the one to wake her up before! It's always the other way around!

We went to Target and got some fun things. Then we went to Park City. Seriously, the best place to go on Black Friday! It was semi-crowded, but nothing compared to around here. The outlets had super amazing sales. We walked into the Carter's outlet (my favorite place in the world) and everything in the store was 50% off, plus they were handing an extra 10% on top of that coupons! It was like that in basically every store. Grandma went a little nuts buying things for Mara. On our way home we went to Taipan, saw a lot of fun things (but didn't buy any). Later in the day we went to Babies R Us and got Mara a front facing car seat! She loves it! I'll post pictures of that another day. It was a super long day, but seriously so much fun! It was nice to have Sean with us. I was glad he wanted to come. Yes, you read that right! He wanted to!

Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was so fun this year! We got to have two! On Sunday night we had dinner with Sean's family since 4 out of the 6 adults had to work on Thanksgiving. It was so fun. Steve always makes a super amazing turkey (not to mention everything else! I've never known another man that cooks the Thanksgiving meal all by himself! Go Steve!!!) Stephanie made some super yummy rolls and sweet potatoes. And I made some pies. It was nice to get together with everyone! I don't remember the last time that happened.

Then on Thanksgiving we ate with my family. It was kinda weird because Brooke wasn't there. My parents always put on a fabulous meal! Sean had to leave for work at 2:00pm, so we had dinner at noon. He got to take a ton of food to work with him for the evening.

I have to brag for a moment. I think I did a pretty good job on my pies! What do you think? The yellow one was a cheescake with lemon cream on top, the brown one of course is chocolate (my mom made the filling), and the other one is a pumpkin! I set out to find some divine recipes, and try them out! Making a pie is so hard! I wanted them to look absolutely perfect, and of course, they didn't...but it was still a ton of fun. I also made an apple for Thanksgiving with the Evans family. I think that's the most beautiful pumpkin pie in the world! Don't you think so? The pictures of Mara were taken at my mom's house on Thanksgiving. She loved the yams, broccoli, green beans, cranberry sauce, and turkey!

What a fantastic Sunday!!

We put up our Christmas tree! I woke up to Sean in the living room, with the tree up and covering it in lights! It was awesome.

Wouldn't it just be fitting that our little Mara would decide to crawl the day we put up the tree?!? Yes, you heard me! She is officially a forward mover now! I've already got a gate lined up to put around the tree. I know, I'm no fun at all....but I just don't really feel like guarding the tree every waking moment.

I will post pictures, but my camera's battery is dead. So you can see the tree and the crawling monster later!

Random Happenings

I round brushed her hair that day! Yes, she's 8 months old..and it's not the first time I've done it either!
She loves to be inside things...laundry baskets, toy buckets..you name it, she loves it!

Basically the cuttest/weirdest thing ever!!!! I can't believe how big she is!

She has recently decided that she loves to be under the table. The only problem is that she has yet figured out how to crawl forward so she eventually gets stuck in the back corner and gets really mad. Just crawl forward already!

It wouldn't be fall without at least one football game. So we went to one of Brett's. He obviously wasn't playing because of his knee, but we went to support him anyways. Talia even made it for a little bit!

My favorite thing

Almost daily I'll walk around a corner and this is what is waiting for me. I love it! Mara loves it too, she just giggles and giggles!

Sleeping In??

Sean is so awesome that a lot of mornings he lets me sleep in and he takes care of Mara! I love it. Here are a few of the hilarious things I wake up to. No wonder why Mara loves her daddy so much, he does so many crazy/fun things with her!!! Don't you just love her bed head?

Finally!!! Halloween pictures!

This Halloween was probably the funnest one I've ever had! It was awesome to have someone to dress up and show off! Poor Mara didn't really get a decent nap all day...but all the fun was worth it, right?

Sean had to work that afternoon, so we started our day pretty early! We dressed her up and set off to Wal-Mart to get her a trick-or-treat bucket. Then we went to American Fork Hospital to visit her Grandma Evans. She always dresses up as a witch at work and hands out goodies to little trick-or-treaters. There was a huge photo shoot (of course...it wouldn't be Grandma Evans without one!) then we were off to Sean's aunt's house! She always decorates her salon so cute during every holiday so it was fun to see her Halloween Salon! Mara was very friendly with everyone there. Her little stranger anxiety luckily only lasted about a week, and she is back as her little bubbly friendly self. She loves to make new friends, especially with kids and babies.

She did get a nap after that until our next adventure up to Grandpa Evans work. Stephanie met me at the house and we left in my car. Poor Maddux didn't like that at all. He kept yelling, "NO!! I HATE HER CAR!!!!" He was just really really tired (atleast that's what I tell myself so I won't feel bad!! Ha ha just kidding. We got to Grandpa's work and followed our Blue Power Ranger and Spiderman around. Grandpa Evans wasn't proud or anything!!! He kept saying, these are mine! (in reference to the kids, or course!) One girl was like..."aren't you a little old to have kids this young?" It was pretty funny.

When we got back we went to my parents house and spent the evening there. Halloween was SO weird this year because Brett had surgery that morning to repair his LCL and scope his MCL and PCL...(whatever those are). Mara did not like him that way at all. She is finally back to normal loving Brett now that he is finally out and about although she does eye his crutches very cautiously. Brooke and Zac came up and we had pizza. It was pretty fun. I actually went to bed at nine! We slept over at Grandma's since Sean had picked up overtime for the night. It was a lot of fun!

Sorry it tooke me so long to post these Halloween pictures. I think I have the cutest Lady Bug in the world! I saw lots of ladybugs this year, but of course mine was the cutest! Anyway, enjoy the pictures!
