Mara's First Swim

Sean is totally going to love that I posted those pictures of his chest!!! Ooo lala! Anyways, long story short Mara wasn't very into the whole pool experience. I think the water was still a little too cold. She absolutely loves her baths, so I think that she'll like the pool once it warms up a bit more. We're going to try again on Saturday since the pool is already much warmer.

What a creepy picture! Anyways, I decided to start reading this. I was kinda nervous about it at first because I'm not into fantasy and alien stuff, but after a few friends had read it and loved it, I decided to give it a try! I'm really enjoying it so far! It's sort of hard to actually sit down and read anymore because of my sweet kiddo. I'll let ya know how I like it when I'm done. If anyone else has any good books they've read lately, please let me know. I'm always looking for a good read!

I think I've decided to set my blog to private. I have mixed feelings about this though...because I'm sure that there are more people that look at my blog than I know about. So, even if I don't totally know you, or you're a friend of a friend etc, send my your email so I can clear you to view. I hate it when people do this, but I understand now. So, anyways don't feel like you can't give me your email just because I don't know you super well. Don't be shy! I'll probably keep this up for a week or so, and I really hope that nobody misses the window...

Three Months Old!

I promised my friend Kassidy that I would put up a picture of Mara in the outfit she gave her. Isn't it cute? She is three months old now! I can't believe it! Have you ever seen a three month old with a pony tail?

Motivation

My mom did the Biggest Loser competition at work this year. I decided that I wanted to do, so I needed to get a group together. So, my family is going to do it! Dad, Mom, Brandon, Brooke, Brett, Sean, and I. Then I decided that Sean's family might really enjoy something like this as well, so they're all going to do it too! So me and Sean are going to be in TWO groups. Which works well for us since I'm definately going to win so we will get TWO prizes instead of one!

So what is the competition you ask? How can girls compete with boys in a weightloss competition? Sean doesn't need to lose weight, how can this be fair for him? Well, it's more of a healthy living competition than a weightloss one. You earn points each day for various things. Such as cardio for 30 minutes a day, drinking enough water, eating your five fruits and veggies, not drinking soda, not eating sugar...etc. You can also get a point for every pound you lose. So it's fair for boys and girls to compete, and for people who have lots of weight to lose to compete with people who really don't.

I'm so excited. I definately need to lose some weight..ok, a lot of weight. I think this is a great way for me to do it. I've lost half the weight I put on during my pregnancy, but I still have a bit to lose. I wasn't where I wanted to be with my weight before I got pregnant anyways, so I decided to lose more than just the baby weight. My goal is to weigh 130 pounds (I'll tell you my goal weight, not how many pounds I want to lose! haha). I think that's a realistic goal for me. I'm never going to be a twig, but I think 130 is a good healthy weight for me. Maybe I should just get a breast reduction and I'd drop like 15 pounds right there! Just kidding. Although one day I will get one after I have all my kiddos! Was that too much information?

Mara & her buddy Asher

My friend Hilary had a baby boy about a month after I had Mara. His name is Asher. We go on walks sometimes so I decided that I needed to get a picture of the two of them together. We laid them on the couch and they put their heads together and linked arms! It was the cutest thing ever!! My picture is kinda bad because I didn't have the flash on. Oops...I think I should just get a new camera for Christmas...(wink, wink). Asher is actually a little longer than Mara, and they feel like they weigh about the same. It's funny though because Mara looks so much more chunky! At her two month appointment (she was a week away from being three months old though) she weighed 11 lb. 5 oz, and was 23 in. long. In the 46% for weight and 59% for length. So she really isn't that chunky. I think most of her weight is in her super cute cheeks! haha.
