Poor Brett had to have his knee reconstructed after a failed attempt at a knee repair last year. The surgery went well. But after about a week he started to get really sick. I mean the poor guy was in a lot of pain and drenched in sweat because of a fever...You know what that means. INFECTION. Basically the last thing you want to hear after surgery! So off to the University Of Utah Medical Center we go. He had to have another surgery to open it up and take a look and then they left it basically open to drain. GROSS! Anyways, he was one sick kid. We were there when he came out of surgery and got to see him. At his request I will not be posting pictures that were taken then. Poor guy was green he was so sick. Mara was terrified of him. That definitely wasn't her Brettbuddy. It was super sad. We went back two days later to see him and he was already doing much better. Gotta love antibiotics!! Mara was so happy to have her Brettbuddy back. She wouldn't stop giving him kisses.
We know it's hard to miss yet another Football season, but think how awesome you'll be next year with a new knee!!! We love you Brettbuddy!

Oh, that is so cute! I am sooo glad Brett feels better! It was super scary there for a while! He is so dang cute! No wonder Mara loves her Brettbuddy! :)

Kaleigh had knee surgery in July and so far, so good!! She won't be cleared for sports until December, maybe January... long months!!!

So that is what happened to him. I sat next to your folks and Brett at the temple dedication. I thought he just hurt his knee at practice or something.
BTW, that is so cute. I saw her sitting on Brett's lap at Dillon's baby blessing Sunday, and both of them were having a terrific time.
