Experimenting with some Editing
I have NO CLUE what I'm doing, but thanks to Ginay I found a website where I can get started for FREE! It's picnik.com, if any of you are interested too. It's just a start, but I'm super excited to learn more!

Kiddie Pools
When we bought this pool I had no idea how wonderful it was going to be in our lives. Probably one of the best investments ever. Sean and I get to lay out and get nice tans, and Mara is a happy little clam running around the backyard. So much so, that by the time it's time to go inside for a nap she passes right out!
Road Trip!
I have been working on two different quilts for about a year now. Yes, I know quilting is generally an old lady thing, but I like it!! Anyways, I finally finished piecing the tops. Then had the dilema: should I just tie them, or take them to the quilter and have them machine quilted? I definitely like machine quilting WAY better than tying, but it is extremely expensive!! So they both sat for a while so I could figure out what to do.
Then my mom had a brilliant idea! My great aunt Della owns a quilting machine, so why not take a road trip?!? We honestly saved money driving all the way to Idaho rather than having them quilted by someone else, crazy eh? Anyways, thank you Della for letting us come! It was a blast, and I have found a new fun thing I love to do! If only I could buy the equipment...wait, I definitely don't have $8,000 to buy one. Bummer. Ha ha. Anyways, here are some pictures of our lovely trip!
These are the two quilts after I was done quilting them. Of course they are far away, so you can't see the detail of the quilting. I did the red-white-and-blue one first. It's a picnic quilt made with some old jeans, so I felt like I should practice on it first. It turned out alright, but I was definitely glad I practiced on that one. The other quilt is the one I actually won on a blog give-a-way. I won the quilt kit (that means all the fabric) then I pieced it all together. The quilting on this one was WAY better than the first! I even threw in some daisy's! As soon as I have the bindings done on both of them I'll post better pictures so you can see the quilting.
Mara went out into the pasture with my Grandpa, her great-grandpa, to look at the cows. When they got clear out there, he set her down and she walked away from the cows, bent over pulled up some grass and walked back to the cow with her arm outstretched to feed it! She is FEARLESS! It was pretty funny. I have no idea where she learned to do something like that either. Maybe the zoo? I don't know.
It was so much fun to just hang out with my mom, Brooke, my Grandparents, and Mara. We definitely missed Sean and were glad to be home! Thanks for letting us crash at your place Grandma!

The Zoo
It was so fun to take Mara to the zoo. I think it was the perfect age to take her, she actually understood what was going on and had a blast! Here are some pictures of our day.
The first thing we got to was the ducks, and swans. I thought she was going to jump right in! She definitely would have if I didn't have a death grip on her.
After a while we got to this Orangatang. It was BY FAR Mara's favorite. I, on the other hand, was scared out of my mind. The thing was huge, nappy, and just plain creepy looking if you ask me. Mara couldn't get enough. In fact, when we went to the gift shop afterwards what stuffed animal do you think she went nuts over? Of course, the big orange nappy one! Lovely...

I even rode the Merry-go-round with them..wait, is that what that thing is called? All of the sudden I'm drawing a blank. Either way, you get what I'm talking about. After the ride was over I was sure I was going to puke all over. I learned my lesson about riding those while pregnant.
Mara and Daddy riding their giraffe too! Mara thought it was pretty awesome.
All in all it was a really fun day. Thanks for taking us Sean!

I've heard from some people that read my blog that all of the sudden their "invitation" to read this private blog has expired. How weird is that? Anyways, I want to make sure that it hasn't happened to more people than have told me. So, I'm unprivatizing (cool word, I Know) my blog for a little while.
