Finally more pictures!

Mara's first Easter. Look, she has
two baskets. She's already spoiled.

Look at that face. She's already sick
of getting her picture taken!

That's Tammy's hand, and her hand
is tiny!

Look at that hair! That flower is just clipped in!

Even at home Mara can't get away from nurse
grandma!

Finally she got to go home!

Brittani's favorite pic of Mara and I.

Mara Update

She's home! We had quite the drama with our insurance about the home healthcare that she needs. Long story short: Grandma Evans is her home healthcare nurse. If she didn't have a grandma that was a NICU nurse she'd still be in the hospital. They placed the PICC line. People keep asking me about it so here's a better explanation. It is an IV that was placed in her arm it took THREE hours to get in! We had to try both feet, and both arms, but got it in on the last try! She was not happy about that, that's for sure. I had to leave the room because it was so sad to watch. Luckily she had her daddy who was tough enough to stay with her. Once they had the IV in, they thread a catheter up her arm and place it in one of the valves in her heart. That way the medication is delivered into a stronger place than a regular IV and will last much longer. So in the long run, the PICC line is a much better option because she ultimately gets poked a lot less. We still don't know the cause of her problems because all her blood work and urine cultures keep coming back negative. So tomorrow night we give her her last anit-biotic and can take out the PICC line. So pray that everything will be cleared up by then! I (Brittani) have a terrible cold and have to wear a mask to be around her, it's been kind of a bummer. But I'm sure it'll be over soon. She's still as cute as ever. I'll post more pictures soon. My computer is just really old and you can't load pictures so I have to go use another computer to do it. Right now my spare time is spent sleeping! Thanks for all your prayers!

What else?

Her doctors have decided that it's probably an infection that has caused all this drama. We just can't figure out where it came from, or what it is exactally! So to be safe she is going to be on IV anti-bitoics at least until Tuesday evening. There is a chance we might be able to take her home tomorrow. They would just put a pic line in (IV that stays in always and doesn't have to have stuff running through it constantly) and we would administer the medicine at home. I guess it's basically a surgical procedure, so it's pretty serious. Good news though, her bilirubin (jaundice) levels have gone down, so hopefully she'll be able to get out from under those lights soon! The only time we can hold her is when it's time to feed, then it's straight back under the lights. Bad news, we probably shouldn't have visitors. We will let you all know when it's ok to see her again! Especially with all of the problems she has had, we need to keep her away from people for a while. RSV season usually ends in May, so after that we should be safe! Thanks for all your love and support! It really means a lot to us.

Poor baby girl :-(

Mara is being a stinker and is grunting. She couldn't stay in the room with her mom and had to go straight down to the nursery. She had to be hooked up to a C-PAP to help her breathe and had to have serfactin (probably not spelled right), put in her lungs. Her lungs were sticky so the serfactin helps her lungs to loosen up so the air sacs can fill up and work right. They also think she has an infection so they started her on anti-biotics. I think she has to be on the anti-biotics for two days. She's in good hands though and has been doing awsome though, so no worries.

It's a Girl!!!

Tamara Ann Evans (Mara). Isn't she cute? She was born today (March 5th), at four twenty a.m. She is six pounds two ounces and eighteen inches long. Look at the hair! She must have gotten that from her mom.

March 4th!!!

I'm scheduled to be induced March 4th! The end is in sight! If I dilate anymore before that, it could even be sooner! (As of today I'm 36 weeks and 2 days, and I am dilated 1 1/2cm and 70% effaced!) We also did another ultrasound today and she is approx. 5lbs. 9oz. Only the 17% range. So my guess is that she's going to be small just like her mom! She already has lots of hair too! I had no idea you could see that on an ultrasound, but sure enough you can! The Dr. showed it to me! It was way cute! I would be very surprised if she didn't have hair since Sean and I both were born with tons of it!
