Story of my Life!

There will be no pictures in this post, but trust me...you'll be glad there aren't any.

So I never read the side effects when I take a prescription. I just don't. I never have. If I start feeling funny then I read them and am like, "oh, that's why!" It's different when you have a kid. I read all of them. Found the best ways to hopefully avoid them, and followed through. Unfortunately not everything is fool proof. Amoxicillin can cause diarhea, but if taken on a full tummy you should be fine----NOT! Oh my land, I swear, if I have to clean up one more blow out I just might scream! Seriously, we have at least 3 a day. "Knock on wood" today we only had two. Neither of which I had to clean up! However, there is a hilarious story involved with today's second.

I had to go teach piano lessons, but Mara was still napping. So I called my little brother down to listen to the monitor and bring her up the street once she woke up. I made arrangements for him to take her upstairs to Beate and Stephanie if she happened to need her diaper changed since he absolutely refuses to do it. Apparently she woke up with quite the doozy. Brett held her as far away from him as possible and carried her upstairs. I believe his words were "I think it's everywhere..." once he found Stephanie. Not to mention the fact that Mara was laughing hysterically the entire time. Poor Stephanie and Beate had to strip her down and give her a bath. I really appreciate it though! I asked Brett what he would've done had it happened while Beate and Stephanie weren't home. His reply was, "I would've let her sit in it"!!!!! Geez! I think I'll think twice about having him babysit again! Anyways, thanks a million to Steph and Beate for cleaning her up! I totally owe you!

Farewell good friend, it's been great while it lasted.

So lets look at the positive side of life. Mara's been sick, but so what? She'll eventually get better, right? So what positive thing has come from this you ask? Bye, Bye Binki!!! Since Mara's nose has been all stuffed up she hasn't been able to use her binki. It's been a whole month (maybe longer) that she has gone without it. So we are officially a binki free family. I've tossed them all and said my final goodbyes. We had some good times that binki and I. Screaming in the middle of the night? Super binki to the rescue! Deciding to "sing" during church? Super binki to the rescue! Just need some peace and quiet? Super binki to the rescue! I know what you're thinking, "if it's been so fabulous with a binki, why get rid of it?" My answer to that is this: I'm getting her off of bottles altogether by the time she's one and that's just two months away. I know it'll be even harder to wean her from her bottles when she still has a binki. So why not take advantage of this situation and get rid of it now? This way it's not a huge major pain to wean her from her binki too! This past month I've had a lot less heart attacks because I no longer get somewhere and have a panic attack because I forgot to bring the blasted thing! I have simplified my life, and I feel fantastic!

Off to School!

We sure are going to miss Daddy while he's at school, but we are so proud of him for starting up again! I know working full time, and going to school is gonna be way hard especially now that we have a child, but I know you can do it! I love you so much! Thanks for all you do for our little family. P.S. I'll try to keep Mara out of your backpack..but I make no promises!

Sick, but oh so cute baby!

She has had a terrible cold, so we've had many a sleepless night around here. How can a kid be so sick and yet so adorable? She definitely didn't get it from me, I look like death when I'm sick! Anyways, I had fun taking pictures of her today...so I thought I'd share them with you!

Road Trip!

Before we were even on the freeway Mara was out cold! Unfortunately it didn't stay that way for long, but she was an angel anyways. Her and my dad "talked" the whole way. He would make a noise, and she'd copy it. On and on it went.

We went up to Idaho to help my Grandparents out on their big construction project. Who am I kidding? I stayed in the warm comfy house while the boys were outside working! It was so much fun to see my Grandparents! My uncle and his family were also there from Wyoming, so it was a party. I'm so grateful that I have such an amazing extended family! Thanks for letting us stay with you for a couple of days!

First Big-girl Ponies!

Can I just tell you how "fun" that was! She was so darn cute! They didn't last very long...but it was cute while it lasted.

Christmas!

True to form, the youngest in the bunch was awake first! Sean and I decided that if we had to be awake so did everyone else...so we gave them a wake up call! Mara pounded on those keys until everyone got up!

She didn't really get the whole opening presents thing. She would rip a piece and turn around to make sure we weren't going to get mad at her! She had been obsessed with presents and was constantly being told, "no, no". She couldn't figure out why it was ok all of the sudden!

We had so much fun shopping for Christmas gifts for Mara. Even though she totally didn't get it, it was fun having a kid around for Christmas!

Thanks for the camera Mom! I'm sure Sean is gonna love that I posted this picture...don't worry I'll post one of me some day! Haha

Yes that is Mara next to her 3-in-1 Sports Station. The picture doesn't show it, but it also has a baseball station and a football station. It is super cute. She mostly just likes the basketballs right now though...someday she'll get it!

We had an amazing Christmas! Thank you to everyone who made it that way!
